Modern vehicles use rear-mounted radar sensors — typically inside the rear bumper or quarter panels — to power Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM), Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA), and Lane Change Assist (LCA). These sensors must be precisely angled to factory specifications.
After any rear bumper repair, rear glass replacement, rear collision, or suspension change, these sensors can shift out of position. The result: dashboard warning lights, false alerts, missed detections, or complete system failure.

Any rear bumper removal, replacement, or rear-end impact can knock the BSM sensor out of alignment, triggering a fault code and warning light. Calibration resets the sensor to factory spec.
On some vehicles, BSM components are mounted near the rear glass area. Windshield removal can disturb sensor alignment. We always check for BSM impact during rear glass replacement.
Most BSM calibrations take 1–2 hours including pre and post diagnostic scans. A full calibration report is provided for insurance purposes.
Any vehicle with factory BSM, RCTA, or Lane Change Assist may require calibration after rear body or glass work — including Toyota, Honda, Ford, GM, Hyundai, Kia, BMW, and Mercedes built after 2016.
